Las Conchas brush fire
Story by kob.com NEW MEXICO One thousand firefighters set out Wednesday morning to battle the Las Conchas fire, which started Sunday and has burned close to 69,000 acres. According to Los Alamos Fire Chief Doug Tucker, the part of the massive fire closest to Los Alamos is moving north, away from the town. Chief Tucker is confident that homes in Los Alamos will be spared from the fire and if there is a chance for fire spotting, the crews are prepared to take action. Read more0
Police Investigate house fire
Story by wsvn.com MIAMI NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Fire rescue are on the scene of a South Florida house fire. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at around 7 p.m. in the area of 1040 Northeast 212 Terrace in Northeast Miami-Dade. According to officials, a neighbor reported that two children could be inside the home. Firefighters conducted multiple checks and said no one was inside the home at the time of the fire. "We have done multiple secondary searches so we are confidant that there is no one inside the home, but we have not been able to speak with the children that were reported to be inside the home when the fire originally occurred," said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Jose Herrera. At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.0

Brush Fire reaches 36,000 Acres!
Story by local10.com MIAMI Nearly two weeks after a brush fire began at Big Cypress National Preserve, firefighters continue to work to put out the flames. The fire has scorched 36,350 acres, or about 56 square miles, a representative of Big Cypress National Preserve said Wednesday. It was burning in an area just north of U.S. 41, or Tamiami Trail, and south of Interstate 75 in the nature preserve, near the Oasis Visitor Center. Read more0
